Kira Sassano records incredible, spacey drone folk music under the name Cave Cricket. With her latest tape, The World, Sassano's textural work is awe inspiring. Cascading tones and abounding noises ebb and flow like the mellow waves of a lake or sand on a beach shifting in the breeze. Her vocals come in many forms, pitch shifted bellows, spacey reverb drenched harmonies, and beautiful melodies sung in the forefront of the mix. The combination of the many elements here is awe inspiring and I'm so glad I get to help share it with you.
