new split lathe cut record from surcarilita (Daniela Sandoval master songstress and gardener from Tijuana, Mexico) and world record winner (me, emmet, bud tapes figurehead from Portland, Oregon). Daniela and i bonded over our shared love of weird music, plants, vegetables, and our cats; who are represented in Daniela's marvelous embroidery that graces the cover of the split (Momo on the left, Lunch on the right). we decided to put out a split before really finishing any songs but after deciding on it, and some mutual encouragement, we were both graced with a burst of creativity that helped us write and record a side of a record's worth of songs each. sometimes that kind of magic can just appear when you agree to create something with a friend.

This trio is the center of an unlikely Venn diagram of several other trios: the Minutemen, Sleater-Kinney, & the Haden triplets. Three is the magic number? Bohemian Square

This is so pretty, it fixes my soul. This album is filled with beautiful songs and lush melodies that keep traveling in your head long after you have listened. The production sounds real big and nothing sounds over processed, it just lets the songs come out nicely. siap
