about

say hello to surcarilita, the newest project from daniela sandoval of tijuana mexico. in her debut record, holiwis (released digitally in september and now on cassette from bud), daniela blends chaos and melody into enchanting folk songs of clarity and beauty. daniela and i have never met in real life but we bonded over the internet via a shared love of music, our cats, and plants. i can’t wait to see the heights to which surcarilita flies because she’s already reached the rooftops and she’s only just begun.
