Hey Sucker is the band and recording project of now LA-based songwriter Zoë Senise. This is her debut, self titled full length; recorded to 4 track cassette in collaboration with Tommy Celt (of rod fame rodband.bandcamp.com). Her lyrics on this tape are at times tongue in cheek and at others deeply introspective and vulnerable (or both in the same breath). The melodies are infectious and the licks are badass; all delivered effortlessly without pretension, akin to the likes of Pavement or Guided by Voices. It's been an absolute joy to witness Zoë's many projects over the years (toonies mayqueen, etc) and see all that experience culminate in this fantastic release. I, for one, can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
